Intimate Partner Violence:
When Sexual Abuse & Exploitation Collide
Regardless of if you personally know a victim/survivor of human trafficking, data from the CDC’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (2017) indicates that “In the U.S., about 1 in 3 women and nearly 1 in 6 men have experienced some form of contact sexual violence during their lifetime.” Unfortunately, intimate partner violence is much more common than we often think…
But have hope! Prevention is possible. We have invited lived-experience expert, Bobbie Benton, to share with us the striking similarities between domestic violence and human trafficking, the key elements that set them apart, and the myths that often keep sexually violent crimes hidden in the dark. Join us as we take steps towards recognizing abuse and preventing potential exploitation. The resources and tips shared during this webinar may just be the key to saving someone’s life!
