Understanding Human Trafficking Laws
Whether you are new to the issue of human trafficking or you have studied this issue for a length of time, we encourage everyone to join us for this special episode with Assistant Attorney General, Kelly Carter, as we explore the past, present, and future of human trafficking legislation. Throughout our conversation, we will address topics such as the importance of language and how human trafficking terms have evolved over time, how victims and survivors are treated within the criminal justice system, the types of support services and protections available to victims, the legal consequences for traffickers and sex buyers, barriers and gaps that still exist within the criminal justice system, and much more. Bring your own legislation-related questions and join us LIVE on November 3rd!
