Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1908 and has provided education enrichment , health and wellness promotion and other needed services within communities, both nationally and internationally.
This specific chapter sponsors the Sorrelles group of high school teen girls, meeting with them every 1st Saturday of the month; they also serve as mentors and provide them with opportunities to contribute to their communities. Topics such as dating, popularity, self-esteem, family dysfunction and struggles at home, drug use, sexuality, and human and sex trafficking, are discussed.
MAP Ann Arbor Community Group leader, and Human-Trafficking Specialist, Elizabeth Allen (LLMSW), will give a presentation on prevention of human trafficking to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority community. The presentation will take place at the Wayne County Community College District – Western Campus- located in Belleville Michigan.
