As part of our Mental Health Awareness Week, Olivet High School invites the public to take part in a Human Trafficking Awareness Event on December 6th, commencing at 6:30 pm in our school auditorium. This event’s primary objective is to foster understanding of human trafficking and to provide resources to combat this issue. Raising societal awareness and educating the public about the psychological aspects of human trafficking can contribute to prevention and early intervention. It’s a multifaceted issue that requires a comprehensive approach, and we all are a key part of the solution.
We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker for the evening will be Dawn Ames, the Executive Director of the Michigan Abolitionist Project. Her expertise and unwavering dedication to this cause will undoubtedly inspire and educate all who attend.
Various organizations will be participating and/or setting up an information booth at this event. The public will be able to visit the booths from 6pm to 6:30pm.
Questions about the event can be directed to Susan Fox at foxs@olivetschools.org or call (269) 749-3671.
*Dawn will also be presenting to Olivet High School students earlier in the day
