At the March gathering the Port Huron Community Group welcomes Deb Drennan, Director of Freedom House in Detroit. Deb will present about the history and mission of Freedom House.
About Freedom House – Freedom House Detroit is a temporary home for indigent survivors of persecution from around the world who are seeking asylum in the United States and Canada. Our mission is to uphold a fundamental American principle, one inscribed on the base of the Statue of Liberty, providing safety for those “yearning to breathe free.” In 2012 we became a formal partner in the Northern Tier Anti-Trafficking Consortium servicing victims of human trafficking.
The Port Huron Community Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month (October-April). 2019 dates include: January 8, February 12, March 12, and April 9. The group meets between 6:30-8pm at the St. Clair Co. Community Foundation located at 500 Water St. Port Huron, MI 48060.
