DESCRIPTION:July 14 9AM-12PM \nGrace Ann Arbor Church\nS.O.A.P. Training & Outreach\n \nM.A.P.-Ann Arbor will host a S.O.A.P (Save Our Adolescents From Prostitution) Volunteer Training and Hotel Outreach event for Washtenaw County. We will meet at Grace Ann Arbor church for a Human Trafficking 101 Presentation\, watch founder\, Theresa Flores’s\, video and train volunteers on hotel outreach. Volunteers will go in groups of four to assigned hotels with missing girls flyers\, soap with the human trafficking hotline number\, resources with red flags and additional training items. Join us in making a difference in our community!\n\nPlease register on Eventbrite- \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/soap-up-ann-arbor-art-fair-tickets-47657091644. \nFREE to register-we will provide light breakfast and coffee/tea/water. Donations are accepted on Eventbrite if you would like to help us provide for food\, drinks\, and S.O.A.P. outreach supplies. We will also be selling S.O.A.P. merchandise including t-shirts and Theresa Flores’s book for purchase as another way to support S.O.A.P. and learn more about the founder\, Theresa’ Flores’s incredible story.

Pick from a boat ride – kayak – canoe – paddle board – inner tube &/or you can stay on land and play volleyball – soccer – music – lawn games! Our mission is to uphold a fundamental American principle\, one inscribed on the base of the Statue of Liberty\, providing safety for those “yearning to breathe free.” In 2012 we became a formal partner in the Northern Tier Anti-Trafficking Consortium servicing victims of human trafficking. Residents came from 28 different countries in 2017. Freedom House’s mission statement reads: \nGuided by our belief that all persons deserve to live free from oppression and to be treated with justice\, compassion and dignity\, we offer a continuum of care and services to our residents as well as to other refugees in need. We advocate for systemic change that more fully recognizes the rights of asylum seekers. \n
