WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE!  \n  \n  \nThe Shelby Township Community Group will meet July 9th at 7pm at Shepherds Gate Church. \n\nPlease Join the Shelby MAP Community Group welcomes very special guests from MICAH 6 COMMUNITY. A group of inspiring individuals moved into the inner city of Pontiac and wanted to make a difference. Over a short period of time this group of selfless individuals discovered that through the following 3 principals; Neighborhood Stabilization\, Fostering Spiritual Growth in the Community\, and Improving Health and Wellness\, significant changes were visibly evident. \nMicah 6 Community\, developed a playground into a garden for healthy food alternatives for the neighborhood. Already this summer they have plans with partners from Leadership Oakland to build a 100 foot long cold frame on the property. Discussions of further additions with what could potentially be first of two small businesses’ on that property: one being a ministry working with individuals exiting out of sex trafficking that would utilize farming as a form therapy.\nHear more of the amazing ways that this group of individuals is contributing to the surrounding community to prevent the vulnerable populations from human trafficking. \n\n\nThe Shelby Township Community Group meets the 2nd Monday of every other month from 7pm to 8:30pm.  \nPlease signup to receive notifications and newsletters about upcoming Voices for Justice events\, or email them at shelby@map-mi.org

Training & Outreach\n \nM.A.P.-Ann Arbor will host a S.O.A.P (Save Our Adolescents From Prostitution) Volunteer Training and Hotel Outreach event for Washtenaw County. We will meet at Grace Ann Arbor church for a Human Trafficking 101 Presentation\, watch founder\, Theresa Flores’s\, video and train volunteers on hotel outreach. Volunteers will go in groups of four to assigned hotels with missing girls flyers\, soap with the human trafficking hotline number\, resources with red flags and additional training items. DESCRIPTION:MAP will host a table at the Troy Community Night Out. The Troy Police Department and Troy Recreation will host a night of family-friendly\, safe fun on July 19 from 6 PM to 9 PM\, in and around the Aquatic Center.  The event features a DJ\, food truck rally\, emergency vehicle display and other safety-related activities.  Admission to the Aquatic Center will be reduced to $2 per person.  The purpose of the event is to celebrate our safe community. \n
