SUMMARY:Berkley - Chosen Movie Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join MAP at Berkley Community Church (in the back building\, The Garage) for a movie screening of Chosen. \n“Chosen” tells the story of two “all-American” teenage girls deceived into trafficking. Eighteen-year-old Brianna was an honor-roll student and cheerleader and worked at a local café. Thirteen-year-old Lacy was an active member of her youth group\, and a volunteer in her community. \nBoth were manipulated. Both were exploited. Both were chosen. \nALL Parents\, Teens\, College Students\, and Adults are invited to attend this event in the BCC “Garage” to learn what they can do to protect our youth and to prevent human trafficking. Please feel free to extend this invite to anyone you believe interested in hearing more about this topic. \nKathy Maitland\, Director of the Michigan Abolitionist Project will share more about human trafficking and the work of the Michigan Abolitionist Project http://www.michiganabolitionistproject.org/. \nSnacks provided! \nFeel free to spread the word\, invite others or bring a friend!

DESCRIPTION:The Berkley Community Church women\, The Jesus Girls\, will be hosting a human trafficking awareness event that will feature the film “Chosen”. “Chosen” tells the story of two “all-American” teenage girls deceived into trafficking. SUMMARY:The Abolitionists: Lansing Showing
DESCRIPTION:Join the Lansing Community Group at this showing of The Abolitionists. \n\n\nOn December 10th\, 2013 Special Agent Tim Ballard turned in his Homeland Security badge and resigned from his employment with the United States government. He had spent over a decade rescuing children from child sex tourism both domestically and overseas. Though his job was difficult\, he was proud that his country was one of very few in the world who was actually doing anything about this problem. However\, mired in red tape and bureaucracy\, Tim left to begin saving the children that he saw falling out of the purview of the US government. These children constitute over 90% of the children lost to child sex slavery and he could do nothing to help them while in the employment of the US government. \n\n\n\n\nThis is a story about the lost children and the recue team’s exploits as they investigate and liberate enslaved children from around the world.
