The goal of this toolkit is to offer a comprehensive assessment of how agencies and advocates can improve the services provided to survivors of the related and often co-occurring traumas of domestic violence\, sexual assault\, and human trafficking. By presenting an overview of human trafficking and its relationship to domestic violence and sexual assault the toolkit offers advocates the ability to better plan for\, recognize\, and support survivors of human trafficking\, whom they are often already serving\, although sometimes unknowingly. The toolkit supports intersectionality\, survivor-centered\, and trauma-informed practices that prioritize the reduction of harm. \nOur presenters will lead a brief discussion about the toolkit and how it might be used to assist with advocacy for Human Trafficking survivors. SUMMARY:A Cup of Hope: Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:[Episode 16] November 4\, 2020\nA Guide to Ethical Shopping\nSpecial Guest: Emily Smith\, Owner of Adored Boutique\n\nDid you know an estimated 152 million children are forced into child labor around the world? In fact\, there’s a good chance several of the goods you own and frequently purchase have been produced by slave labor. How can we use our everyday choices to demand the production of slavery-free goods? Join us as we explore one of the most impactful ways everyday people can get involved in the fight against human trafficking – conscientious consumerism. \n\n  \nEMILY SMITH’S BIO \n\n\n\n\nIn September of 2016\, I left my secure employment of 19 years and followed God’s call on my life to change my career. I walked away from the boat into His great unknown and started a business in a field I had no experience in. God broke my heart for the things that break His\, regarding the global human trafficking industry\, and I decided I was going to become part of the solution. \nAdored Boutique opened in December 2016 in Grand Rapids\, Michigan. All of my artisan groups and vendors have gone through an in-depth assessment and have provided documented verification of their manufacturing processes and environments. As a result of my intentional ethical purchasing\, to date\, Adored Boutique has paid an estimated 3000 months of above living wage salaries for vulnerable artisans around the globe. Additionally\, through our 15% profit give back\, Adored has contributed over $25\,000 toward human trafficking prevention\, rescue\, and restoration efforts in the United States. \nIf you would like more details or to discuss having me speak at your event\, please contact me directly at emily@adoredboutique.com. You can read more about my story at www.adoredboutique.com. \n\n\n\n\nClick here to view prior webinar recordings

SUMMARY:A Cup of Hope: Webinar Series (Bonus Episode)
DESCRIPTION:[Episode 14] September 10\, 2020: Uncovering the Truth (Part 2)\nLive Q&A Session with a local FBI Agent\nRecently the media and social media platforms have been flooded with claims that the popular furniture company\, Wayfair\, has been involved in a complex scheme involving sex trafficking of children. Unfortunately\, this story is not the first sensationalized trafficking-related theory to go viral and it surely won’t be the last. As we know\, the widespread sharing of any misinformation (especially on social media) can be a serious barrier when trying to identify actual victims of sex trafficking. It’s time we call upon the experts – the National Human Trafficking Hotline and the FBI – to help uncover the truth behind these claims. Join us for a 2-part series as we learn where these popular theories come from\, if they hold any validity\, and how we can stay informed on the true indicators of sex trafficking moving forward.\n \nThis meeting will not be recorded. \nClick here to view prior webinar recordings
